New learning platform brings online lectures, real-world experiences and work-based learning together 

BBL Bazen is launching a new online learning platform for Dutch students in secondary and vocational education. It is an exciting next step for Stichting Guruz and Brainport Industries College, who joined forces to bring students closer to the world of learning and working. Through online guest lectures, students get to explore different professions, meet employers and discover the opportunities that work-based learning can offer. The new platform now brings all these real-world stories together in one central place, powered by the Learning Management System (LMS) from BCS HR Software. By bringing education, business and technology together, the three organisations share one clear goal: to inspire students and help them take their next step. 

About BBL Bazen

BBL Bazen (that has been around as a platform for some time now) brings the world of learning and working to life through short online guest lectures filmed at different employers. Students get a look behind the scenes and see what working in these organisations is really like. Rather than focusing only on the employer, BBL Bazen puts the students themselves centre stage, as they share their experiences, talk about their day-to-day work and show what it is like to combine learning with working. This gives other students a personal and relatable view of different professions and the opportunities that work-based learning can offer. 

The new learning platform brings all these stories together in one central digital environment. Students can easily watch guest lectures, explore different professions and learn more about work-based learning. By bringing everything together in one place, BBL Bazen takes the next step from a series of inspiring real-world stories to an online environment that helps students explore their options and make informed choices about their education and future careers.

Making work-based learning visible and relatable

With BBL Bazen, Stichting Guruz and Brainport Industries College want to show students the many opportunities that work-based learning can offer. The initiative supports vocational students as they explore their future careers, while also reaching secondary school students who are still considering their next step in education. By putting real experiences from the workplace centre stage, BBL Bazen does more than explain work-based learning: it shows students what it is really like. 

“There is so much potential in work-based learning, but students need to know what opportunities they have,” says Arjan Elbers, founder of Stichting Guruz. “Through BBL Bazen, we let students share their own experiences of learning a profession, gaining work experience and developing their skills with an employer. Together with Brainport Industries College, we combine their strong network and expertise in work-based learning with our experience in online guest lectures. The new platform will help us bring these stories to even more students. We are also very grateful to BCS for making their platform available to help make this possible.” 

Technology as a foundation for future grow

The new platform is build with the Learning Management System (LMS) from BCS HR Software. The software provides the technical foundation for the online guest lectures and additional information, bringing everything together in one accessible learning environment. The LMS also gives BBL Bazen plenty of room to grow, with opportunities to add new learning activities, create different learning paths and gain greater insight into students’ progress in the future.

Ambition to keep growing as a platform

The launch of the learning platform gives BBL Bazen a strong foundation for further growth. Stichting Guruz and Brainport Industries College plan to expand the platform with new guest lectures from a wide range of employers. Together, they aim to make at least fifty BBL Bazen productions available, giving students the opportunity to explore an increasingly diverse range of professions, employers and work-based learning opportunities. 

The ambition is for BBL Bazen to become the go-to platform for students exploring the world of learning and working. A place built around real stories from students, a growing range of guest lectures and a learning platform designed to grow with them. Above all, BBL Bazen aims to inspire as many students as possible to discover which profession and future could be right for them.
